PETERMAN BUSINESS MILES shows the artist’s self-reflection on his own carbon footprint. Peterman recorded his automobile use over a year period and then estimated the resulting amount of carbon that was emitted into the atmosphere. This figure was then used to create the installation by selecting tree trunks with an equivalent carbon content to the car’s emissions. In Basel, Switzerland, a third trunk was later added to account for the CO2 emitted through the transport of the artwork itself. >>
