For her project about THE KICKAPOO VALLEY, Pentecost collected soil samples. She used them for her experiments in soil chromatography and Holmes took photographs of the experiments and charted them on a map. Through their project, the artists document the diversity of soil and highlight the importance of healthy ecosystems in an age of land speculation and genetically modified crops.
